the occasional (out)burst

It seems my blogging happens in random and occasional bursts. Well, apparently I'm at it again, after a couple of quiet months. All the snow, cold and dark makes me a walking introvert, happy to oblige a desire for lounging on the sofa with a cup of coffee and a good book (or five).

We had a couple of days recently, with spring fairies kissing our cheeks, and a single sweet violet bravely showing its fragile purpleness, accompanied by the humming of a lonely honeybee, risking its life for a ray of the sun. Now another layer of snow covers our bit of the world, but there seems to be reason to hope for the return of the spring fairies in the foreseeable future.

A few glimpses from today (and tonight) ...

We're so happy there are four sides to our mass oven - it makes it possible for several activities taking place around it at the same time. A corner of the kitchen is at the present time a wood working space for little S, who's making a sword.

»Is it not possible that a place could have a huge affection for those who dwell there? Perhaps your place loves having you there. It misses you when you are away and in its secret way rejoices when you return. Could it be possible that a landscape might have a deep friendship with you? That it could feel your presence and feel the care you extend towards it? Perhaps your favorite place feels proud of you…«.
