riotous

»And don’t think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter.
It’s quiet, but
the roots are down there, riotous«

Rumi, from 'Form Is Ecstatic' in The Soul of Rumi

There's a dreamy beauty outside, the dark and light contrasts softened by flowing mists and drifting snow. Inside we're snug and warm, lightning candles and baking yule cakes. We've been quite busy lately, tearing walls down in our little country house, and building a mass oven. It still needs a beauty treatment, aka cob, but we love it so much already. It's like our old home finally has got a visibly, palpable and warm heart. I'll show you - later.

Keep warm out there in the wide & wild world!

  1. Hi Mona. Lovely post. I like the rumi quote. It rained so much here yesterday, we didn't even go out u til we had to. Even the sea gulls have come inland. I can only imagine what is going on at the coast! Xo
